candle care ❤

Let's be real here, taking care of your candle is the best way to prolong its life.

Here are some of our tips on candle care:

1. trim your wick

Trim your wick to between 2mm – 3mm before each light. Wicks that are too long, the candle could extinguish. we recommend gently snapping off the ash/burnt wood with your fingers, nail clippers are also great!

2. burn for 1-1.5 hours

Allow your candle to burn for at least 1 to 1.5 hours every time or until the entire surface of the candle is melted! This prevents tunneling- a term coined when excess wax builds up around the wall of the jar.

3. candle placement

Where you place your candle is important. When lighting, place candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, and never leave it unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

4. once candle is empty

Once you see the candle is close to empty (about 6mm of wax left), you can now reuse your glass jar! Give it a nice hot water bath, dump out the remaining wax, remove the wick, and now the possibilities are endless!

5. remove soot

If you see soot in your candle, blow out your candle, let it cool and gently remove the soot with a damp cloth.

Once the beads are revealed, blow out the candle. Remove the beads carefully with a tweezer. Rinse them off and make a bracelet out of the beads!
